Brian Springer put together the video which Includes footage from a 2007 FEMA drill that was held on the Antioch College campus inside the Olive Kettering Library. Even more disturbing is the fact that this drill was held after the Antioch University Board of Trustees had announced that the college would close. The library, called, "the Olive," is a repository of all things Antiochian.
When people ask, "what will happen to the campus?" my answer usually is, "I don't know." Perhaps this video is making a statement about what the campus will become now that the Unviversity board of trustees has taken control.
A fresh question might be: What can be done to preserve Antioch as an institution of higher learning?

To put this in context a little bit. April 2007 was the Virginia Tech shootings, followed by a at least two other campus shootings since then. On top of this, emergency response plans at ALL campuses gained some urgency following Katrina. I have been in main building during a real tornado drill as well several years ago a visiting artist "may" have been shot at while walking near campus.
There are at least 4 schools in a short drive from Antioch (Clark State, Wittenberg, Wright State) not to mention numerous elementary and secondary schools as well as the colleges in Dayton, Urbana, etc...
I have seen the video and as an alumni I am very compassionate to the campus and to the sentiment of callousness. However, it takes a long time to schedule a drill like this and while it may seem pointless to some, drills like these prepare emergency responders well. These safety issues are not diminishing. Just something to think about.
