Do You Care Where Your Clothes are Made?

Would you pay more for an item of clothing if it were made in the U.S.? Does location matter?

I went to the American Apparel Flea Market Sale last weekend; an excursion into the commodification of cool. That's what it was. Not everyone may be familiar with the term "Flea Market," or "Flea". Similar to a garage, or yard sale, a flea market sale is when the seller puts out a little bit of everything for the purpose of being sold at a discount price. In this case,
AA's flea featured the standard items we have come to appreciate: tank-dresses, hoodies, body-con styles, plus vintage denim styles, and a selection of authentic vintage items. In addition, there were carry-alls, underwear, jackets. You get the picture. The prices at the AA flea, were moderately lower that their usually retail prices.

Hey, Mr. DJ, spinning authentic vinyl at the garment factory.

Finally, a shopping experience is not complete without music. According to my source, this clothing company produces music mixes through Viva Radio that are tailored for each retail outlet for a customized listening experience for customers and employees, alike.

YES, with the American economy as it is today, it matters where/how I spend my $s! I want to invest in American-made even if it might cost a little more. That's the American spirit-pass it on.
